KEDC Looking for a new Executive Director: Position Announcement


The Kewanee Economic Development Corporation (KEDC), a not-for-profit 501 c (4) organization supported through appropriations from the City Council of Kewanee and from contributions from the private sector, is looking for a dynamic and proven leader to serve as Executive Director.  KEDC, along with local partners, seeks to not only create and retain a flourishing business community that support vibrant growth, but also to generate long-term growth and prosperity and improve the community’s quality of life.

The successful candidate will have 5 years (preferred) of solid economic development experience at municipal, county, or regional level with not-for-profit management experience a plus.  Demonstrated leadership capabilities in program implementation, budgeting, fundraising, and community outreach a must.  Experience with TIF, Business Districts, Enterprise Zone, Revolving Loan Fund programs, and incentive package development strongly preferred.  Excellent public speaking and presentation skills required.

Minimum requirements include Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in business, public administration, public policy, marketing, urban planning or related field combined with substantial economic development experience.  KEDC offers a competitive salary and individual benefits package.
