Black Hawk College

Black Hawk College is a comprehensive community college serving 12,000 students in Henry, Rock Island, Stark, Mercer, Whiteside, Bureau, Marshall, Knox, and Henderson Counties at two campuses in Moline, Illinois and the East Campus 5 miles south of Kewanee.

The college offers an array of programs leading to Associates of Arts, Associates of Science, and certificate programs. Widely recognized programs include Agriculture, Business Management, Computer & Information Systems, Equestrian Science, Engineering, Health Care, Manufacturing, Sustainable Energy, and Warehouse & Distribution Specialties.

The Black Hawk College East Campus serves 1,000 students and is nationally and internationally renowned for its Agriculture and Equestrian programs. The campus attracts students from all and, as such, has developed residential dormitories to serve this population.

As a community college, Black Hawk excels at offering vocational and customized training resources to area businesses. Through its Small Business Development Center, an array of business counseling, research, and support services are available. The center also operates the Black Hawk College SBDC International Trade Center and the Illinois Procurement Technical Assistance Center @ Black Hawk College that helps companies research, apply for, and secure government contracts.

The Black Hawk College Community Education Center in downtown Kewanee provides educational opportunities for local residents and workers to upgrade or refresh their skills to meet the demands of the 21st Century economy. Adult education, English as a Second Language, and Computer Training programs are available as well as customized training for businesses. The Community Education Center serves as your “One Stop Shop” for training resources and employment information in Kewanee.
